Competitive Intelligence - Early Warning
We are tying to build a Competitive Intelligence system where we plan to monitor CI information (internal and external) to track competitor activities. We are tying to create a market trend baseline and then monitoring these market trends for outliers.
Our hypothesis is that for every action there is a reaction and thus for every competitor move there will be ripple effect in the market. We are hoping to identify and study these ripple effects (or outliers).
So, the three questions we are looking to get answered are:
- Has anyone done this before? How did you go about creating such a process in their company, some of the challenges you encountered and how are you managing such as system?
- How is the company integrating the soft intelligence into their decision making (such as information received from sales?)
- What systems is the company using to build/ manage this?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Jas
